About us

Welcome to Fika, a vibey brunch cafe run by us, brother & sister duo Ivo & Tia. Like all siblings, we've always disagreed on plenty... but, one thing we can agree on is finding a good brunch place with an awesome playlist and great staff. We both ended up working in one such place, Fika. And a few years later, we found ourselves in the right place at the right time and ended up owning the place. 

Fika, inspired by the Swedish philosophy of enjoying the little things in life, is known for its great coffee, amazing and unique brunch dishes from our genius chefs, and of course Scandi cinnamon buns. We only use fresh ingredients and make everything we can on site in our small but highly productive kitchens. All our baking is done by us too (we never buy anything in!), from those light, warm buns in the morning to the famous carrot cake.

We have 2 sites - one on Mill Street in Oakham and one on Stamford High Street

We're also working on something new & very exciting so keep your eyes peeled.

Full-time FOH team member (supervisor potential)

We’re after someone who loves working with people and is keen to uphold the standard
of both our offering and customer service. You’ve got to be a big lover of brunch culture
and understand the Fika brand and what it stands for. You will need to work efficiently
and deal well with pressure as we do tend to get very busy at times. Teamwork is
everything and our team culture is one of the most important things when you work with
us. We’re after fun, capable people who don’t take themselves too seriously but know
how to work to a high standard. There is scope for growth in this role as we are always
expanding and looking for new projects so if you are up for more responsibility this role
will allow you to grow into that. Some experience is required to ensure you can be up to
speed in no time, but we will provide extra barista training etc to ensure consistency
across the brand. Flexibility to work weekends is a must. 45-50hrs a week, please only
apply if you are available for a prolonged period of time and intend on staying in a fairly
permanent role.

Part-time FOH team member

We’re after someone who can be flexible with their time and perhaps has their own
passions or responsibilities they’re working on but are keen to channel some energy
elsewhere. You need to be good at working with people and communicating both with
your team and customers. You need to be hard-working, easy-going and have a fun
personality to fit with the rest of our team. We have very high standards to uphold so you
need to have a good sense of attentiveness, reliability and attention to detail. We are
interested in people who are available for approx 20-25 hrs a week and will require
flexibility to work weekends.

Head chef

We need an amazing, creative chef to lead the kitchen and maintain the standard and
style of food we have worked hard to get to. You need to be prepared to work hard and
uphold industry standards of running a commercial kitchen as well as our own standard

of pushing traditional “cafe food” boundaries. You need to be prepared to innovate and
come up with exciting and unique new brunch dishes and ensure they are in keeping with
the brand and other locations. You also need to be level-headed and handle pressure
well. The Fika family is one of the biggest parts of our brand and we feel very strongly
about only bringing people on who can work well with everyone else.

Part-time chef

We need a helping hand in the kitchen of our new venture but we have quite a lot of
flexibility with the range of candidates we would consider. Whether you want to just be
part of a commercial kitchen for a few days a week to keep your toe in the water or if
you’re a passionate sous chef keen to gain some more experience and move up to a
bigger role at some point in the future, we want to chat to you! Please get in touch if you
